Greetings From the Alpha Nu Omega Chapter

On behalf of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Alpha Nu Omega Chapter, thank you for visiting our website!  We are delighted to share information about our great Sorority and the work the amazing Alpha Nu Omega chapter does in Oakland, California and the greater bay area.

Alpha Nu Omega was chartered in 1929 by ten remarkable women, led by Ida Louise Jackson, a former Oakland public school teacher and the Sorority’s 8th National President. Alpha Nu Omega chapter was chartered by women who sought to fill a need in the Bay Area, which has now grown to over 160 members who carry on their legacy serving Oakland, Berkeley, Emeryville, and Richmond communities.

I have the honor of serving as the 2024 – 2025 Basileus of this chapter of amazing women who are dedicated to “Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood” as guided by our International Programs Agenda. Our Foundation Initiative is Strengthen Our Sisterhood. The Programs Initiatives include:

We are especially proud of our non-profit foundation, Pearl & Ivy Community Corporation’s, scholarship program, providing five unique scholarships through which we have awarded more than $60,000.000 in scholarships.
